EnergyAustralia is an Australian private company that supplies energy to around 1.7 million customers across eastern Australia. They are one of the leading energy retailers, offering plans and services to both residential and business customers. They serve in several locations, including Victoria, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, South Australia, and Queensland.
Whilst their energy generation facilities were mainly powered by traditional resources such as coal and gas, they are also committed to reaching net-zero emissions by 2050. This commitment is why they are also investing in newer sources such as wind, solar, and batteries. However, transitioning towards renewable energy sources will require more storage facilities to house turbine stands and spare parts.
The Project Brief
Illawarra has relatively high chances of rain on average, receiving about 1,064mm of rainfall annually. EnergyAustralia Tallawarra required a storage facility to warehouse their spare parts and turbine stands, protecting them from the weather elements in Illawarra. To protect their assets from the rain and other weather conditions, they requested a full endwall on one end of both their shelters, which needed to be engineered for their wind region.
Our Shelter Solution
Our commitment to understanding each customer’s unique needs ensures we deliver the right solution. For this project, that meant upgrading to a shelter with a fully engineered endwall, providing robust, long-term protection in coastal conditions. To meet their needs whilst ensuring limited downtime, we proposed:
- A HC container-mounted shelter measuring 15.8m wide x 12.2m long x 7m high
- A fully engineered Full endwall on one side to provide further protection for their stored stands and spare parts
- Twist lock beams for a weld-free installation
- Designed and engineered for wind region A
Beyond its primary use for warehousing and storage, EnergyAustralia could also leverage the shelter for a multitude of other applications.
Why Allshelter?
EnergyAustralia chose Allshelter for several reasons. They became familiar with Allshelter after we supplied drive-through COVID-19 testing shelters across Australia. This led them to contact us a couple of years later when they had a storage need, which we were able to assist with. Allshelter has a proven track record of delivering shelters with speed and reliability without compromising the quality and the strength of the structure. Having been thoroughly satisfied with their previous Allshelter storage shelter, they confidently ordered another one years later.
Ultimately, we have provided a shelter that meets EnergyAustralia’s needs, and more. The shelter and endwall add-on provides storage that shields their equipment and parts from the weather elements. The versatile uses of our container-mounted dome fabric shelters are endless. Trust Allshelter to deliver an efficient and effective shelter solution for you, your people, and your assets.
