Project Install Time: 4.5 Days
Location: Cameby Downs, QLD
Shelter Size: 336m²
Purpose: Mining Vehicle Tyre Change Bay
Structure Type: FreeSpan™ Fabric Shelter
Syntech Resources operates the Cameby Downs Mine, an open-cut operation in Southeast Queensland’s Surat Basin. The site produces low-ash thermal coal for export, utilising a direct rail link to the Port of Brisbane. Following its 2011 acquisition by Yancoal Australia, the mine is now part of the Yankuang Energy Group.
The Project Brief
At an off-grid location in Queensland, the Cameby Downs Mine operates in extreme heat, with record temperatures hitting 43.8°C. These conditions present a serious risk to the mining crew as they service heavy dump trucks in the sun. Our client sought a shelter solution that protects workers while maintaining operational efficiency. The shelter should accommodate a full-sized dump truck during tyre changes. It also needs to shield the team and vehicles from harsh weather, including the intense sun and heavy rain.
